What makes a useful correction
Name the Restview page, quote the short statement that needs review, and provide the current official government, court, archive, library, or repository URL. Explain whether the issue concerns jurisdiction, eligibility, fee, public-access timing, processing, record coverage, or terminology. We compare the claim with the source before changing published data.
Restview cannot order a record, confirm a person’s identity, interpret a will, determine inheritance rights, or contact an agency on a reader’s behalf. For those tasks, use the linked record custodian. Do not send payment information, government identifiers, account credentials, or any record containing sensitive details.
How a report is handled
A correction is checked against the most specific current source available. If the source supports the change, the affected data field, explanation, source link, and review date are updated together. If a general directory conflicts with a record-specific office page, the record-specific office normally controls. If the evidence remains ambiguous, Restview should describe the uncertainty instead of selecting the most convenient wording.
Messages asking for an individual search, a reproduced publication, a burial contribution, legal interpretation, or an agency transaction cannot be fulfilled. This keeps the contact channel focused on the accuracy and accessibility of the reference site.
